The postal code system in Poland

The postal codes were first introduced in 1973 in Poland, and these postal codes consist of 5 digits. There is a lot to know about these postal codes, and here we will be elaborating all about it. As there are 5 digits in postal codes in Poland, they are divided as follows.

  • There are 2 digits, and then there are 3 digits, and these are divided by a hyphen between them.
  • The first digit is used to identify one out of the 10 large postal regions in the country.
  • The second and third digits are under use for the smaller regions.
  • The last two digits are under us3 for the number of a postal delivery branch for the exact location.

The way of assigning the postal codes in Poland is very simple. The numbers run clockwise on the map. Each of the 10 regions gets a number starting with 0 for Warsaw and ending at 9 for Lodz.
