Postal codes in Denmark

The postal codes were implemented in Denmark in 1967, and they have 4 digits. These postal codes are based on the divisions of towns and municipalities. The amazing thing here is that the postal codes from 0800 to 0990 do not include the postal service centers and the bulk mail receivers.

  • These postal codes range from 1000-1999, assigned to the steers and other mail recipients like public administrations, companies, and organizations.
  • There is an exception only for the Faroe Islands, which have a separate postal code system.
  • Greenland also follows the same methodology for postal codes that the whole of Denmark follows.

Denmark Overview

Denmark is an interesting country located in the south of most of the Scandinavian countries. The interesting thing here is that it consists of an Archipelago of 443 named islands. Apart from these, there is a peninsula and Jutland.

With a population of 5.84 million, Danish is the de facto language in Denmark. Interestingly Greenland has its official language Greenlandic, and the Faroe Islands have their official language Faroese. At the same time, some people speak German as well.
